Bill looks at the route ahead from the west ridge. The NE Breast (left) is 3128 feet high. The SW Breast at over 3100 feet, is almost as high. We will traverse under the SW Breast on the snow below the cliffs, and ascend to the saddle between the peaks, about a mile and a half away in this photo. Total distance from shore to saddle is only just over 2 miles.
